New rads for Riosa 2023
Hello,
I had some rads done on Riosa and wondered if I could get some feedback. I see some sinking and thin soles. Could Dr Kellon or Lavinia comment on her rads and why is going on. She had some issues health issues last spring - summer which casues some issues with her hoods but they are looking much better in the outside now but wanted to get some nex rads to see the story inside. I worry about changes vs last rads and if we should be managing her differently. Hi Heather,
There doesn't appear to be any more sinking than there was in the Dec 2020 rads. Sole depth appears to be less and her toes are a tad further out ahead than ideal. HPA is slightly broken back on both feet, so she needs to have some additional height left in her heels. Current hoof photos would be helpful. -- Lavinia, George Too, Calvin (PPID) and Dinky (PPID/IR) Nappi, George and Dante Over the Bridge Jan 05, RI Moderator ECIR |

Hello Lavinia!
Thanks for getting back to me! I agree toes could come back a bit more and improve the breakover. I took the heels down a bit too much I realized after on my last trim and previous to the rads. I trimmed a bit between the last pics
and the rads too which wasn’t smart to do. The heels just looked so dang high to me so took them down, which I know better than to do if you have a chance of having thin soles. Should have left them until after rads. When I saw the rads I also saw the thin
soles. :(
She is due for a another trim so will take some pics this weekend. The rads were actually taken about a month ago but just got the copies of them yesterday.
What about any signs of inflammation in the laminae or weak connections? Or bony column issues? Or any comments on the laminae connections? Does she look like she has had recent or ongoing possible laminitis or broken connections from
the rads? TIA
