Rosa - 18 year old POA winter laminitis help needed
JUDITH S. SCHNEIDER
HI,
1) I am trying to upload radiographs. I get as far as uploading, however, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as when I check, it states, radiographs not uploaded. I cannot find the information - I know it's there - but I cannot find the directions. 2) Rosa's pain level continues to be high. On a scale of 1 - 10 (1=low and 10=high), she is generally in the 7-8-9 range. The abscess that Dr. Kellon noticed on the rads has not moved/changed 3/6/23 - Last trim and noticed souls dropped 3/16/23 Farrier did not notice any significant hoof growth and observed she is standing square She is in Cloud Boots 24/7 and new pads are added when needed. She's on Devil's Claw 15 mg 2x day, Metformin, JHerb, Pergolide/Prascend and Mineral Mix - all in accordance w/group recommendations Tapering of Thyro -L She's in her stall and has lots of room to rest, lay down (not observed that she does this often) and walks when she wants. She's standing in one place most of the time Eating/drinking = normal Any suggestions and / or what are we missing. Thank You for your support and efforts to help Rosa. -- Judy S in NM 2023 |

Hi Judy,
It appears that you are using the original CH site so you would go to the link to your photo album in your signature https://ecir.groups.io/g/CaseHistory/album?id=284031 and click on “Add Photos”. Is that what you’ve done? -- Martha in Vermont

Hi Judy
Just guessing that you are looking at her public view CH and you need to go Rosa's HOOF section -- the work area where you edit/add to that section. It will say hoof-issues in your URL. If you go through My Equines tab, see Edit/Add and Please Choose in the far right. Hover your clicker over the window that says Radiographs not uploaded yet. You'll see it changes to Click Here to Upload. ONce you click, you'll go to D&I where you can upload your jpgs. You are almost there. Hang in. -- Nancy C in NH ECIR Moderator 2003 ECIR Group Inc. Sure, Judy, my having just led you astray. Sorry about that! If you put the link to your new case history page into your signature, I will do better going forward. I’m still hoping to see your new radiographs.

When you get a chance, could you please offer your thoughts on my questions regarding Rosa and what we may be missing in her care.
Thanks! -- Judy S in NM 2023 |

Judith,
Do you have an area where she can be turned out to move around more? That mobilizes abscesses. Warm poultices (Numotizine is best) also are both soothing and encourage drainage. You can put a call of warmed (microwave) poultice into an empty bread bag or large freezer storage bag before booting. -- Eleanor in PA www.drkellon.com |

HI Martha,
I'm still uploading the information on the new site. So, I don't believe it's public yet, right? I'm a bit hobbled with technology! I don't have any new radiographs - just the ones submitted on the old site. Those are the ones I was trying to upload. -- Judy S in NM 2023 |

Hi Dr. Kellpn,
Yes, she is able to walk around in a large area ( +/- 1 acre). Her stall gate is open . She does not socialize w/o others in this area - only over the fence line. We'll try the Numotizine to help with drainage. Thank You for your help! -- Judy S in NM 2023 |

Oh, I see, Judy. I thought you were trying to upload new ones. I know the others aren’t that old but they indicated a need for a different trim and I wanted to see if that had been done. We can tell from photos, taken according to directions in the Wiki. Her previous radiographs showed her toes to be quite long and likely to be causing her issues.
Hopefully, someone else will address the accessibility of the new site. As you can probably tell, I’m a little behind on that information. I’ll try to get myself an update. -- Martha in Vermont

HI Dr. Kellon,
The poultice finally arrived. What does this mean - "You can put a call of warmed (microwave) poultice" ..... Thank You for your help! -- Judy S in NM 2023 |
|
Sorry. That should have been a BALL of warmed poultice.

HI Nancy,
I am following the directions to the best of my ability. I hovered over the window that says Radiographs not uploaded yet. I clicked it and uploaded the image. I go back to double check that they are attached and I don't see that they are. What am I missing? -- Judy S in NM 2023 |
