If you have seen the increased pink color to gums and tongue as you are giving it, stay with that.

Yes you can make it ahead, Daisy. If feeding with food you might need to feed more. Look for the change in gum colour.

You have said that you have noticed a colour change. But do you mean how much Jiaogulan can be fed, if there still is no colour change. How great an amount can be fed before deciding to go to plan B ?? -- Lorna in Eastern Ontario 2002 |

Daisy,
Jiaogulan is an extremely potent herb and should be given "to effect". If you are not seeing the gum/tongue color changes, you can go up but if you are, stop there. Like many herbs, it has anticoagulant effects and it also lowers blood pressure. -- Eleanor in PA www.drkellon.com |

dr kellon, i am so sorry for my continued jiaogulon questions; before i found this info in the files now i cannot. tiko is at 1 1/2 tsp bid, minimal color change i give it in his food, feel he needs more, cannot do any other way due to boarding issues; also he was slightly coliky today and they wanted to give banamine i said no so just watched him now seems ok. i remember not to use with ginseng, bute , what are the vasodilating drugs to avoid? thank you so much. daisy, tiko, whisper

dr kellon and lorna, finally i see real bright pink spots on the inside of his lower lip and gums some bright pink. he is at 1 1/2 tsp bid with food; if he gets too much pink i will back down to 1 1/4 tsp bid. thank you so much, daisy,tiko,whisper
