whisper/ trh test/ advise needed

hello, whisper is a17 year old haflinger, ; back in august his acth was 97 insulin 55 no glucose from cornell, in sept acth 86 glucose 87, insulin 126, leptin 16 i from cornell; on a dry lot with other horses hay varies from grass to alfalfa , hay will never be tested; trh test in 1/2022 pretest 9.14, post 10 minutes 66.5, post 30 minutes 22.9 all cornell. he moves about on a 3 acre dry lot for his activity lives outdoors 24/7 at about 8000 feet elevation. tape weight 1000# he is asymptomatic, barefoot, sound, ; any advise to help him or just leave well enough alone; any suggestions for acth as his trh is normal?? trying to assist as he will always be in my heart. thank you, daisy, tiko, whisper

He may well be early PPID but at 1000lbs he's overweight and more likely to be IR and his insulin results reflect that. If nothing is going to change in his management there's nothing you can actually do about it though.

thank you sherry. in my heart , i am his owner but i gave him t to diana about 4 years ago. i had thought he would be better managed with lots of riding mostly trail, due to many changes in her life it has not happened. i will continue to see him and hope for the best.. his weight is misleading, under all his winter fur he is quite ribby, history of tape worms so am working on better deworming. the vet is not really into insulin/ppid care unless it is a quick fix with prascend. thank you for your input best of hopes for whisper. daisy, tiko, whisper
