My vet said that younger horses can indeed get it and that there is
beginning to look like a genetic disposition to it. Still in the early
stages of documenting this. From what I can gather it seems that is can
be found in younger horses but is usually misdiagnosed or missed
completely. I think it is a good thing that you are getting him checked
out early!
