I Have been struggling for 5 months with founder horse with probable
Cushings. Vet said NOT to do dexamethasone suppression test as this can
CAUSE founder , or make it worse. Everything I read

Nerve damage and sweating.
At a barn were I had worked, there was a horse who had
sweeney, nerve damage to shoulder, he did not sweat in
that area as well as the muscle atrophied, so may well
be that there is some nervous syste

Joint supplements and Cushings

Somewhere I read that yucca in supplements makes cushings worse as it
INCREASES the bodies cortisol release.

You're not in a selenium or copper deficient area are you? Stray
thought & probably moot since I would think that deficiencies of this
sort would cause more overall symptoms. But perhaps

Yes we are a selenium deficient region. I am currently using a feed that is
specifically designed for the NW and supposedly researched, formulated and
recommended by Kentucky Equine Research

(Night Flight) is now 29 years old, diagnosed with Cushings
symptomatically (wouldn't ovulate & didn't shed out) about 5 years
ago.
